What we do

Non-commerical, independent, community-based television is a vital platform for exercising our First Amendment rights. In a news environment dominated by big-budget corporate media, local voices are easily drowned out. 'You Are Here' brings viewers TV news that is produced for our community, by our community. Join 'You Are Here' and be a part of our alternative voice.

Why we do it

'You Are Here' presents real issues facing Cambridge's various communities , exposes viewers to the diverse perspectives that local residents bring to public affairs; identifies ways that viewers learn more about and become involved in their community; and demonstrates the power of citizens, individually and collectively, to improve the quality of life in Cambridge.

Values

We encourage member participation at all levels of the production process. We value transparent decision-making and diversity in all forms. In order to give members a sense of ownership, produce a greater range of voices and visions, and assemble a diverse set of stories, we reach our goals by making decisions through consensus whenever possible.
