"YOU ARE HERE" CELEBRATES ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY
NEW EPISODE FEATURES "ZINE" LIBRARY, HISTORY OF CAMBRIDGE GLASS

" You Are Here , The Cambridge Video News Magazine," will premiere its 12th show--and celebrate the one-year anniversary of the program--on Monday, June 26, at 8:30 pm. The program will premiere on Cambridge Community Television (CCTV) channel 10. The program will be re-broadcast Sundays at 5pm and Mondays at 8:30pm (channel 10), and Thursdays at 9am (channel 9).

This episode of " You Are Here " will feature reports on Papercut, a
"zine" library in Harvard Square run by a collective of volunteer
librarians, and the history of glass manufacturing in Cambridge, which
saw its heyday in the 19th century.

"Does seeing a sign for a 'Zine Library' make you stop and look
through the door?" asks Ricardo Melo, 15, a You Are Here producer and
resident of East Cambridge. "Zines" are inexpensively produced,
non-commercial publications that feature a mixture of original and
copied text, images, and comics. Melo feels that You Are Here 's focus
on Cambridge stories like the "Zine Library" makes it more valuable
than other news programs.  "It's about the small stuff the big
channels don't care about. Fox is busy caring about people getting
killed or who's hot in Hollywood."

In another report, You Are Here examines the history of the glass
industry in Cambridge. "The New England Glass Company of East
Cambridge was a leading manufacturer of fine glass during most of the
19th century," says producer Gabrielle Mondesire. "It played a pivotal
role in shaping the glass industry today, but has been mostly
forgotten."

For the 12th episode of You Are Here , a special screening and
information session will be held on Monday, June 26, beginning at
7:30pm, at Cambridge Community Television, 675 Mass. Ave. (entrance on Prospect St.).  Free refreshments will be served. The event is open to
the public, and anyone interested in producing a news story or joining
the You Are Here team is especially welcome to attend.

" You Are Here is a great opportunity for new producers to learn the
ropes of creating news, right here in Cambridge," says Angel Aiguier,
a founding member of You Are Here and veteran segment producer.  "It's TV news that is produced for our community, by our community."

You Are Here is a half-hour video news magazine about Cambridge, MA. The program was started in spring 2005 by volunteers, mostly members of Cambridge Community Television, who decided to provide an alternative to mainstream commercial news. The all-volunteer team
produces, tapes, and edits the news program, completing a new show
every four to six weeks. Each episode of You Are Here is broadcast
three times a week on CCTV (channels 9 and 10) for about one month.
Weekly meetings are held Mondays from 6:30-8:30pm at CCTV (675 Mass. Ave, Cambridge, MA).  For more information, please come to a meeting or visit www.youareherenews.org .
