Independent Cambridge-based local TV news magazine wins Video Festival awards.

' You Are Here , the Cambridge Video News Magazine' was recently
awarded two awards at the Association for Community Media, New
England regional Fall Home Town Video Festival. Ceremonies were held
November 15th at the Fuller Museum in Brockton, Mass. Two episodes
of the show's first season were awarded first place in two different
categories. Episode 11 won 'News and Event Coverage, non-
professional,' and Episode 12 won 'Magazine Format, non-
professional.' You Are Here 's Executive Producer, Birgit Werner,
Technical Director, Buz Owen, and Outreach Director, Angel Aiguier,
were present to accept the awards. Angel Aiguer also was awarded
first place for her news story 'Prelude to the African American
Experience in Cambridge' in the Community Impact, non-professional
category.
The Fourth Episode of the Second Season of CCTV's Video News
Magazine, ' You Are Here ' is s currently screening on CCTV in
Cambridge. This Episode premiered Monday November 27th, and will
continue to be shown on CCTV through January 7th.
This show includes the following stories of special interest to
Cantabrigians.
'Election Night 2006' presents a unique view of election night from
the point of view of Mihos and Patrick supporters as they await the
final vote tally. Produced by Jamie O'Brien.
'Patriotism and Resistance' gives a quick view of a poetry reading
staged at the Edna Stebbins Gallery in Harvard Square. The reading
was the last of a series of events accompanying the Gallery's show
'Speaking Truth to Power'. Produced by Elizabeth Belstraz and Buz Owen.
'Karl Stevens' interviews the Cambridge painter and graphic novelist
and presents some of his work. Steven's comic strip 'Whatever'
appears regularly in the Boston Phoenix. Produced by Jamie O'Brien.
'Flu Season' presents a talk given by Lynn Schoeff of the Cambridge
Health Coalition, on seasonal flu, flu pandemics, and Cambridge's
preparations for both. Cambridge residents are also interviewed
about their attitudes toward flu andthe precautions they take.

' You Are Here ' airs three times a week on CCTV cable channels in
Cambridge; Along with the Monday evening showing at 8.30pm on Channel
10, viewers can catch the show on Channel 9 at 9 am Thursdays and
Channel 10 at 5 pm Sundays. Past episodes of ' You Are Here ' are
available on the show's web site ' youareherenews.org '.
' You Are Here ' producers meet regularly on Monday evenings from
6:30-9 at CCTV, 675 Mass. Ave, and welcome prospective new producers
of news videos.
The next episode of ' You Are Here ' will premier on January 8th. The
new episode will also be screened for the public at CCTV, where the
show's segment producers will be available to discuss stories.
Cambridge residents, potential producers, and newsmakers are
