Minutes of Meeting 09-05-06

We discuss at length the failure of sound recording of the studio shoot. We will try to learn from our mistakes.

Next show. Nothing is ready yet. Can it be ready soon?

Area 4 Piece Andrew wants an interview with someone from Area 4. He will talk to Angel. Birgit will help if required. This piece is unlikely to be ready.

Hometown video festival - Jennifer wants people to enter things, give things to her. Has to be items shown/finished by July 31 2006.

Angel has the feedback from previous returns. Jen has one just in for Birgit.

Andrew and Ann are talking about Area 4 again.

Buz has DVDs.

Matt gets distracted by an emergency preparedness drill, Cambridgeside Galleria Sept. 17th. Could be a good news story though.

Elizabeth arrives.

Terrence lets us know that on Saturday there will be a radio show (2hrs) on the consequences of 9/11.

We talk about John Osbourne interview again. Buz and Ann will crew.

So far we have 4 pieces at 5 minutes = 20 minutes.

Buz talks about what happened at the Katrina event. Ann offers background footage. Buz wants Ann to choose it.

Terrence raises possibilty of turning his BLive into a segment. We probably won't do this.

Party Plans Should probably do a party on the date we have said we will, even if we only have a 'rough cut'. To screen or not to screen.

Email your credits and titles to Buz. Segments need to be on the hard drive by Sunday at 4.

We talk about the press release. Ann suggested we send it out before now with no details about pieces. That hasn't happened, so people should send details of stories to the list or Matt.

MATT SHOULD EMPHASIZE STREAMING IN THE NEXT RELEASE. ESPECIALLY IF WE PROMOTE TO PEOPLE OUTSIDE CAMBRIDGE.

Ann suggests doing the press release earlier next month. Birgit disagrees, and Ann wonders what the point is. Birgit says it depends whether we emphasize the first air date/which is often changeable. If we want them to come to a screening, it needs to go out earlier. We discuss who the press release goes to an other possible contacts. Buz wants to make contacts in radio stations (for the purpose of promoting the show, not in general).

Elizabeth suggests sending pictures, and maybe sending regular mail. The article needs to be 'almost written'.

Back to party plans. Buz will bring beer. Terrence has reserved the studio. Terrence will make something exotic. He feels community is important and appreciates Buz's kind words about the food. Terrence would like to bring anarchists along because they are good people, and explains why this is. Birgit is bringing dessert, as is Elizabeth. Andrew will bring non-alcoholic drinks. Ann will bring salad.

Terrence has an edit room from 4-9 on Thursday.

Intros for the show Send clear titles to Ann by Saturday. Matt and Birgit will help Ann at 4pm. Birgit will reserve equipment, Ann will pick it up.

Set up and meet at 6.30 next Monday. Party at 7. Bring ideas of what to submit for festival; Ann will send reminder email. If she doesn't, Matt will.
